Will the Government's homelessness initiative work?

The Government is investing $54 million to help people who are the most at risk of becoming homeless. 

The money will go towards initiatives supporting at-risk individuals and whānau to stay in stable housing.

Making the announcement on Sunday, Minister of Social Development Carmel Sepuloni and Associate Minister of Housing Kris Faafoi described it as "pragmatic steps towards ending homelessness".

Ronji Tanielu, principal policy analyst of the Salvation Army, joined The AM Show to discuss whether the money was being directed that the right people.
