An advertiser has come under fire for an ad which says "ice cream makes you happy".
The Streets ice cream ad is displayed on the outside of a dairy in Whangarei.
Unilever Australasia was ordered to remove it after a local resident complained to the Advertising Standards Authority that the ad was "extremely irresponsible" given obesity and mental health issues in New Zealand.
Unilever Australasia said the ad was fist put up five years ago, and has been used on storefronts in various locations.
The company has appealed the decision, and is waiting for a result.
