A school in Hamilton is refusing to change its policy to allow girls to wear shorts instead of the uniform pinafore.
Many girls at Marian Catholic School say the school-issued dresses are too hot and itchy, particularly in the summer.
The school says students can change into their P.E. shorts and white shirt for the playground during the day.
But, they add, students must be back in full uniform when they're on the way to, or back from school, or when they go out for school and community events.
