It's back to school for some today.
Schools are reopening now that New Zealand is at alert level 3, however, most kids should still be staying home for distance learning.
Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said the decision to allow schools to reopen is based on global data showing schools are not a high-risk setting for children.
Iain Taylor, principal of Manurewa Intermediate School, says he would have preferred to wait until level 2 until reopening schools. He told The AM Show yesterday that teachers now need to get on with the job.
