Grieving family hit by online fraud

In April last year we brought you the story of Claudine Johstone, a Kiwi mum of five with terminal cancer.

She knew she was going to die and wanted just a bit more time with her kids. But the drug she needed wasn't funded in New Zealand.

So her family moved across the ditch where the medicine was freely available, even for Kiwis.

Claudine fought on for another 16 months and died last week,

Her funeral was on Monday.

Now, her grieving family has been hit by identity theft, with online scammers starting a fundraiser pretending to be for them.

Widower Stuart says it's not him and he wants police to throw the book at the low-lifes behind this.

He spoke to The AM Show.
