Hundreds of foreign yachties stranded in the South Pacific are pleading to spend the cyclone season in New Zealand.
But the Ministry of Health says they don’t meet the threshold to enter our waters, and escaping a cyclone isn’t enough reason for an exemption under Covid border restrictions, leaving the yachties with few options.
