This week The Hui hosted the final two debates in its Māori electorate series with a fiery turn out from candidates in Te Tai Tonga and Te Tai Hauāuru.
Te Tai Hauāuru is considered to be one of the seats 'in-play' with a strong campaign being run by Māori Party co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer against Labour's incumbent Adrian Rurawhe.
Labour MP Rino Tirikatene has represented Te Tai Tonga since 2011 and is part of a whānau legacy in the electorate formerly known as Southern Māori which stretches back over 63 years. It's thought to be a safe seat for Labour despite a strong showing from Māori Party candidate Tākuta Ferris during the debate.
Former Minister of Māori Affairs Tau Henare and former Māori Party candidate Carrie Stoddart-Smith shared their views on the candidates' performances.
