Question of the Day: Should you be able to name your child whatever you want?

What's in a name? A lot, apparently.

Te Tari Taiwhenua Department of Internal Affairs has released the list of names declined in 2020 by the Registrar-General of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and there were many.

Over a quarter of names rejected included the word "royal" in some form.

Should you be able to name your child whatever you want?
