An Upper Hutt school has renamed mufti day to 'be yourself day' after concerns from a student the original name was culturally insensitive.
Heretaunga College held its first "be yourself day" last week after months of research over the cultural connotations of the term "mufti", which is an Arabic slang term referring to off-duty officers not being in uniform.
Should mufti days be renamed?
