With the spread of fibre across our country and its higher than predicted uptake, the rumour mill often talks about switching off the old copper network.
This then puts the fear into the rural communities, senior citizens, those who depend on landlines for medical alarms and others who don't yet have access to fibre.
So, what are the plans for the copper network? And are the concerns justified?
