Andrew Strawbridge's condition is slowly improving with the Chiefs assistant starting to make signals to his family.

Strawbridge remains in a critical and sedated, but stable condition after being hospitalised with a mystery illness following the All Blacks Test in Apia.

A Givealittle fundraising campaign started by the family has now raised over $18,000 for the Moto'otua National Hospital Intensive Care Unit where Strawbridge was initially cared for before being transferred to Waikato Hospital.

The Strawbridge family have expressed their gratitude to all the donors and to Samoan and Chiefs player Tim Nanai-Williams for supporting the campaign.

The money raised will go towards medical equipment including a computer, syringe pumps, echo machine, airway equipment, ICU dialysis machine, a vital signs transport monitor and a portable oximeter.
