The daughter of late All Black legend Jerry Collins is reportedly recovering from a horror crash.

Ayla Collins was just 10 weeks old when she was orphaned in the late-night highway crash which claimed the life of her father, Mr Collins, and mother Alana Madill on June 5.

Her aunt Nora Madill told Fairfax Media Ayla is a "big baby and a good eater" and recovering steadily.

"She's a really good sleeper at night and she's a happy baby… She continues to be a little fighter. She truly is a miracle to us."

The baby is likely to face ongoing disabilities as she grows up, and is being raised by her mother's parents in Canada.
