Cameron Smith to break silence on McKinnon criticism

Cameron Smith is set to break his silence on Alex McKinnon's scathing criticism of him in last week's explosive 60 Minutes show.

The ex-Newcastle forward is still upset over on-field comments made by Smith following the tackle that left him paralysed in March last year and the fact Smith hasn't been in contact with him since.

Smith will speak exclusively to Peter Sterling on Fox Sports, with part of the interview expected to air today, while the full version will be played as part of the networks Super Saturday coverage tomorrow.

The Storm captain was angered at Channel Nine's failure to allow him right of reply to Alex McKinnon's 60 Minutes special.

After being informed of Smith's stance, the network avoided approaching Smith during their coverage of the State of Origin on Wednesday.

He declined to address McKinnon’s comments post match so the focus was on Queensland's performance.

"I don't think tonight is the night," Smith said.

"You go through ups and downs but my focus has been on the team this week.

"Any distraction for me would not have helped our cause."
