The Manly Sea Eagles have arrived in Auckland ahead of the game against the Warriors on Saturday with coach Geoff Toovey fending off questions about his pending exit from the club.
Speculation is rife across the Tasman that Toovey and his assistants will all be fired come the season's end with manly enduring a painful 2015 so far, sitting 13th on the table and well out of the playoff picture.
"It doesn't matter what the club does, all we can do as players and me as the coach is try and win matches and if we’re winning matches that makes our purpose right," Toovey said.
"As I said, I don't want to comment on it. All I know is that I've got a contract to be head coach here next year and I need to win some football games."
It's thought former Dragons star Trent Barrett will be installed as head coach ahead of next season.
Toovey said he's expecting Daly Cherry-Evans to start for Manly after recovering from a shoulder injury.
