The Tall Blacks trialists are pushing for places this week to play a series of basketball games in Europe and China.
Oklahoma City Thunder centre Steven Adams would've been the first player pencilled into coach Paul Henare's squad but his selection all depends on his new boss in the NBA.
"When they changed their head coach and fired Scott Brooks, it kind of halted the process a little bit which isn't ideal but it is what it is and we'll just carry on and keep communicating and hopefully we'll find out soon," Henare said.
Adams was never expected to be at trials today but Henare was certain the big Kiwi wants to play.
"It all comes down to what his management and his OKC management think what's best for him."
"[we're] obviously very hopeful he's available."
