Nehe Milner-Skudder is enjoying the amount of support he's getting ahead of his All Blacks debut against the Wallabies in Sydney on Saturday night.
The 24-year-old is on the right wing with his Hurricanes captain Conrad Smith at centre, Super Rugby-winning skipper Ben Smith at fullback and the experienced Dan Carter at first-five all offering plenty of good advice.
"Obviously there's a lot of experienced players in the squad and they're all good buggers and been helping me out and they're open to any questions I'm asking and just making sure that I know what I'm doing," Milner-Skudder said.
"They're all quite open to me.
"All the new boys that have played, [I can] go up and ask and see what the experience is about."
Milner-Skudder is rooming with Hurricanes team-mate Smith on the trip and is "buzzing" to be in the All Blacks environment.
Having spent time at fullback during the Super Rugby season, All Blacks coach Steve Hansen wanted to see how Milner-Skudder did on the wing before trying him out in a position the All Blacks are loaded in.
"At this stage we want to see him on the wing and once he shows us he can do that job, we might be interested in looking elsewhere but we've got plenty of people that can play fullback," Hansen said.
"It's about Nehe going out and doing a job that he's comfortable in on the wing. He's done a fantastic job for the Hurricanes all year and it's just a matter of going out and doing what he did there and doing it well."
