Nick Kyrgios thumped by Gasquet at Cincinnati Masters

Australia's tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios has been dumped out of the Cincinnati Masters, going down 6-2 6-1 in the first round to his Wimbledon fourth-round conqueror Richard Gasquet.

The 12th-seeded Frenchman took just 56 minutes to brush aside Kyrgios, who was broken four times and produced seven double faults in a woeful second set, and now heads to the US Open in less than a fortnight with little in the way of hard court match play under his belt.

World No.37 Kyrgios was sanctioned by the ATP last week after a verbal dust-up at the Montreal Masters with French Open champion Stan Wawrinka.

The 20-year-old was fined $US10,000 after courtside microphones caught him telling Wawrinka his Australian Davis Cup teammate Thanasi Kokkinakis "banged your girlfriend".

His defeat sees him avoid a spicy second-round clash with Kokkinakis, who hit out at his close friend because of the comments.
