The Breakers launch their Australian NBL title defence next week after a preseason heavily disrupted by injuries and absence.
Corey Webster's future at the club is still uncertain, but they could get back two other big names for the start of the season.
"Preseason's gone long enough now," says Mike Vukona. "I just want the season to start, and when it does – watch out."
Another player itching to get on court is Tom Abercrombie after spending most of the pre-season sidelined with a hamstring injury.
"It's been frustrating wanting to be out there with the guys in the preseason, getting better and having to sit on the sidelines," he says. "I'm close now, I just have to be patient and be sure the body's ready to go when I get out there."
Abercrombie is targeting a return in the opening round, as is Alex Pledger following off-season foot surgery.
But the club is waiting on Webster, currently in training camp with the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans. He is still on the Breakers' books until the Pelicans confirm their roster for the start of the NBA season late next month.
