Paul Lasike's future with the Chicago Bears has ran into a wall with visa problems impacting his contract.
The New Zealand native needs to obtain a new worker visa every time he switches teams, a detail that slipped through Bears' management when the rookie running back was signed to the practice squad earlier this week.
The 25-year-old spent the preseason with the Arizona Cardinals, and despite scoring a touchdown in the fourth preseason game, failed to make the 53-man roster.
Lasike cannot play without an updated working visa, but the former rugby union player is confident it will be sorted.
The process of securing a new visa can take anywhere from a couple of days to weeks.
