Manchester United's German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is reportedly looking to take legal action towards a Hong Kong manufacturer over a Nazi doll that bears a striking likeness to him.
German tabloid Bild said the footballer's lawyers have begun proceedings in order to prevent the sale of the action figure, which is also named Bastian.
Bild quoted the manufacturing company, Dragon in Dream (DiD), as saying that resemblance was "pure coincidence" and that they choose the name Bastian because "many people in Germany are called Bastian".
The company said that it's "a complete coincidence" that the World War II doll bears a resemblance to the footballer.
"We don't sell any figures which resemble footballers. It is a complete coincidence that the figure 'Bastian' looks like Schweinsteiger," a spokesman added.
"We thought that all Germans look like that. Bastian is also a very common name in Germany."
The 30cm figure comes with a steel helmet, woollen cap bearing a swastika, and a dagger.
