The All Blacks had a close encounter with royalty on the eve of their World Cup match against Georgia.

The first sign that something was up was a helicopter hovering over the All Blacks training session at Sophia Gardens, just a short distance from Millennium Stadium, where Wales and Fiji were playing.

The security personnel that are with the All Blacks 24/7 were looking a bit twitchier than normal and then five minutes after the helicopter landed, Prince William and his entourage were escorted past.

A smattering of All Blacks, including Sonny Bill Williams and Luke Romano, were on hand to witness the drive-by as were a few supporters and on-lookers.

It was all over in a flash - the on-lookers moved on and the All Blacks, having finished their last training session before the game, boarded their bus back to their hotel.
