Joseph Parker is impressed with Kali Meehan after both fighters looked in great shape at today's weigh-in.
Parker clocked 107kg, which is 500g less than for his win over Bowie Tupou in Invercargill in August. He looks much the same though; trim, muscular and athletic.
Kali Meehan's body defies his 45 years. The scales read 110.60kg and there's very little fat on his massive frame.
The weigh-in was held at a pub in Newmarket, Auckland and the patrons would have learnt plenty about living healthy from Meehan, as they leaned over the bar and watched proceedings. He doesn't drink and it shows.
Parker says seeing Meehan in such good shape gets him more excited about fight night.
"I'm a bit jumpy because I'm so excited. I've got all this energy and I just have to relax myself and save it all for tomorrow," Parker said.
Meehan says he's always fought between 108 and 110kg.
"It's a dangerous fight. You can't underestimate a young lion like Joseph Parker, so I try my best to get in phenomenal shape," Meehan said.
He says he includes swimming, push-ups and dips, as well as plenty of sparring.
