Australian Kerryn Manning has made history in Addington Raceway in Christchurch tonight, becoming the first female driver to win the New Zealand Trotting Cup.
A week after the Melbourne Cup had its first female winner, Manning controlled the race from start to finish, with Arden Rooney holding off Smolda down the home straight in a tight finish.
Also trained by Manning, Arden Rooney paid $7.80 for the win.
