The biggest A-League crowd in Wellington in more than six years witnessed a top-class performance from the Phoenix last night, sending a strong message to Football Australia bosses.
A fortnight after the club were denied a licence extension, the fan-led Save the Nix campaign looks to be bearing fruit.
Even before the match, as fans marched to the ground, there was a sense of the importance of the match.
On the pitch, it was one of the most dominant displays from the Phoenix in recent history.
