A Kane Williamson century has anchored the Black Caps through to 273/7 at lunch on day three of the first Test against Australia.
It was an action-packed opening session with 116 runs scored and two wickets falling around another gem of an innings from Williamson, the 25-year-old carving 19 boundaries on his way to his tenth Test century.
However it's the lone bright spot on a sub-par NZ scorecard, BJ Watling making his way to 32 before faintly edging to slips off Mitchell Johnson, Mark Craig then spraying one off Nathan Lyon for the simplest of catches.
Doug Bracewell has dug in to support Williamson, 16 not out heading into the break.
New Zealand 7 for 273 (Williamson 112*) trail Australia 4 for 556 dec (Khawaja 174, Warner 163, Voges 83*, Burns 71) by 283 runs
