The All Blacks Sevens team need a handful of new recruits after the squad was decimated by injury at the season opening tournament in Dubai.
The New Zealanders limped to a fourth-place finish with captain Scott Curry, Tim Mikkelson, Regan Ware, Gillies Kaka, and Sherwin Stowers all set to miss the next round in Cape Town due to injuries.
Joe Webber could yet join the injured group if he succumbs to a niggling shoulder injury he initially hurt during the NPC season with Waikato.
Augustine Pulu played through a hyper-extended elbow, however he will miss the next two games following a citing for an aerial challenge.
Coach Sir Gordon Tietjens said he had never seen a squad so ravished by injuries.
"I have never, ever struck injuries like it," said Tietjens.
"In the final game for third we were playing at stages down to five players. The referee stopped the game at one stage to wait for a sub to come on but I said we haven't got any, that's how bad it got."
Tietjens said he would work through his options to decide who would join the side in South Africa.
