Confusion abounds over the status of Guus Hiddink's employment, Football Australia reporting that the Dutchman has been appointed as new manager of Chelsea despite no confirmation from the club itself.
Although no official announcement has been made, the FFA has run a story on its website declaring the move completed.
"Guus Hiddink has taken temporary charge at struggling EPL giant Chelsea after the club announced they'd sacked coach Jose Mourinho overnight following the club's disastrous run in the English Premier League," reads the report.
Either way, it appears inevitable that the former Socceroos manager will take over the embattled London side after the firing of Jose Mourinho this past week.
