Today's recovery session included an a squad lawn bowls competition, young import Charles Jackson getting his first look at the sport.

Christmas downunder will be another first for the 6-foot-11 American, the extended Breakers family will keep Jackson company on Christmas day, while he'll catch up with his real family online.

It's a good thing Jackson doesn't need to do any last minute shopping, as Coach Dean Vickerman isn't in a festive mood after last night's loss to the Hawks.

No such trouble for the Hawks who stung the Breakers in the first quarter, hitting five three-pointers to blow the game open.

After dropping 36 points on his former team earlier in the season, Kirk Penney scored 27 this time around.

After losing their perfect home record, the Breakers now face the challenge of turning around their poor away form.

The third-placed Breakers have won just two of their seven road games this season.

The Breakers travel to play the Sydney Kings on Sunday, before travelling to play the Cairns Taipans on New Year's Eve.
