Video: Chelsea fans react to Mourinho sacking

Chelsea fans have turned on the club after the sacking of manager Jose Mourinho.

The popular manager left the club "by mutual consent" after a disastrous start to the season, the Premier League champions announced Thursday (Friday NZT).

Chelsea said that Mourinho, 52, had left "on good terms" and that both parties felt it was in the club's "best interests" for him to depart.

However, fans have expressed their anger at the move, speaking out against the Chelsea board and blaming the players for quitting on the Portuguese manager.

"I'm absolutely disgusted, we're showing no loyalty, its hire and fire. The guy won the league last season, it's been five months and they've got rid of him for no reason," one fan outside Stamford Bridge said.

Another fan questioned the revolving door of managers at the club.

"I was hoping we were going to have a bit of stability in the club, because he was three years here the first time and now he's had another three year stint. I'm concerned we're just going to have a rollover of managers again."
