Black Caps bowler Mitchell McClenaghan has shown his followers on social media what it looks like after being hit in the face by a cricket ball.
After helping bat the Black Caps into a solid position during the first ODI against Pakistan, the 29-year-old was hit in the face by an Anwar Ali delivery that got through his helmet.
McClenaghan was hit in the left eye and had to be taken to hospital for stitches after retiring from the game hurt.
"Thanks for all the concerns. Everything is as good as it can be just a few broken bones. Great win for the boys!" McClenaghan tweeted to his 48,800 followers on Twitter.
New Zealand won the match by 70 runs with McClenaghan's ninth-wicket partnership of 81 with Matt Henry playing a big part in the victory.
It is unknown if McClenaghan will be back in time for the Black Caps second ODI against Pakistan on Thursday.
