Sharapova, Williams to face off in quarterfinal

There was a medical emergency at the Australian Open overnight.

Ana Ivanovic's coach, who is also Andy Murray's father in-law, collapsed during Ivanovic's three-set loss to Madison Keys.

While Nigel Sears is recovering in hospital today, Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams booked themselves a rematch of last year's final.

Williams has been making light work of her opponents all tournament, and today's match against Margarita Gasparyan was no different.

Williams' straight-sets victory sets up a quarterfinal with fifth seed Sharapova.

"She had a really good win today, and again I really have nothing to lose," says Williams. "We are both just doing the best that we can, so we'll have fun."

The Russian was relentless in her clash against 18-year-old Belinda Bencic.
