Lydia Ko is being followed around the golf course at the New Zealand Women's Open not just by fans but also Snapchat.
The golf tournament is currently being played at Clearwater in Christchurch and entrepreneur Robett Hollis is hot on her heels as she makers her way around the course.
Mr Hollis is live streaming Ko's round on Snapchat through Switch TV. Snapchatters can tune in and see Ko in action and also contribute to the snap story.
The idea came together just two days ago when Mr Hollis got in touch with Ian Taylor, who pioneered the virtual broadcast of the America's Cup, to get the technology and make it happen.
He is getting a hand on the golf course with avid Snapchatter Michael Mullins.
"Lydia Ko wasn't getting live streamed and we thought why not?" Mr Hollis says.
"If everyone's already got a cell phone why not utilise modern technology to be able to spread the word in real time?"
They called it the way of the future.
"Why we chose Snapchat is obviously the app is just exploding among that younger demographic especially in New Zealand and everyone's got a cellphone, the two just work simultaneously," Mr Mullins says.
"The users tell the story. We capture it with New Zealand-made technology and rebroadcast it on the same channel."
