Black Caps selector Gavin Larsen says having to tell Matt Henry that he hadn’t made the Twenty20 World Cup team was the hardest phone call he has had to make in the job.
Larsen admitted the need to balance the squad was the main reason for Henry's absence, as the Cantabrian vied for a spot amongst a strong and experienced group of quick bowlers.
However Henry can expect to feature heavily for the Black Caps in future squads - with Larsen assuring the 24-year-old of a very bright future for New Zealand.
