The New Zealand Warriors will call Mount Smart stadium home until 2028.
The Auckland Council-controlled Regional Facilities Auckland says it has finalised an agreement with the club for it to stay put.
The deal is a change from earlier proposals, opposed by the Warriors, for the club to shift to Eden Park or QBE Stadium on the North Shore as part of a regional stadiums strategy.
RFA chief executive Chris Brooks says the new agreement is a 10-year extension of the existing contract and will run through to the end of 2028.
It follows talks with the Warriors and other users of sports and entertainment venues, which had led to a review of parts of the strategy.
Warriors chief executive Jim Doyle hailed the new agreement and credited Brooks, who took over last March, for opening the way for a review of RFA's plans.
"We were in a position not so long ago where we were being told Mount Smart Stadium wouldn't be our home beyond 2018," Doyle said.
"We were passionate about staying here. We have always said it is our home and we certainly appreciate the way so many people showed their support for us to remain."
Doyle said the terms of the agreement included a significant upgrading of the stadium and its facilities.
Mt Smart has been the Warriors' home ground since they entered the premiership in 1995.
