Wayne Smith's making the most of a break from rugby and is in no rush to consider a reported coaching offer from the Harlequins club in London.
He's been on leave since helping the All Blacks to become the first team to successfully defend the Rugby World Cup at Twickenham last November.
Smith told Newshub he's considering several options regarding his coaching future – and is enjoying family time after back-to-back campaigns for the last 29 years.
Harlequins will be looking for a new Director of Rugby at the end of their season, when Conor O'Shea leaves the club.
The 58-year-old is highly regarded in England, and is often described as one of the best brains in the game.
He spent three years with the Northampton Saints after resigning as All Blacks head coach in 2001.
He returned to the All Blacks as an assistant to Graham Henry in 2004, and was involved through to their 2011 World Cup triumph on home soil.
Smith was also an assistant coach with the Chiefs in Super Rugby from 2012 to 2014.
