Chinese football league gaining worldwide attention

While the English Premier League is reaching its climax, the Chinese Super League is only just getting started, but it's already outspent the Premier League on players.

The money involved in Chinese football now boggles the mind, the teams have spent over half a billion dollars on transfers this year, more than any other national league.

Former Chelsea player Demba Ba is one of several big-name signings heading into a much-anticipated 2016 season.

"They invest a lot on players, on coaches, on staff as well," said Ba.

"With what they offer sometimes you just go and say 'I'm going to take it'."

Ex-England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has been coaching in China for three seasons and says it's the place to be in world football.

"Today young players are coming and they want to come," said Eriksson.

"I've had a lot of phone calls from good, famous footballers who want to come [to China]."
