Last year's finalists the Hurricanes have suffered a big blow with All Blacks winger Nehe Milner-Skudder ruled out for the rest of the Super Rugby season.
The Hurricanes announced Milner-Skudder will need surgery on his shoulder which he dislocated in the 23-19 win over the Blues on Friday night.
Cory Jane will replace Milner-Skudder on the right wing for their clash with the Western Force in Palmerston North.
Despite losing the electric winger, the Hurricanes welcome back skipper Dane Coles who will make his first start of the season.
Coles has recovered from a calf and hamstring injury that caused him to miss the first three weeks of the season and will replace Leni Apisai who has picked up an injury.
Coach Chris Boyd has made two further changes to the side that faced the Blues with Chris Eves taking over at prop from Reggie Goodes who is injured, and Vaea Fifita coming in to the starting XV for Brad Shields.
Boyd said Milner-Skudder's injury was unfortunate, but Coles' return was a timely boost ahead of what is shaping up as a tough match.
"Losing Nehe is a blow and obviously disappointing for him, but we're really lucky in that we have a lot of depth in the outside backs and when you can bring a 53-Test All Black like Cory Jane into the team you aren't going too bad," Boyd said.
"We've been a little unlucky with our hookers so far this season with injuries, so it's great to have Colesy back on the park. He's our leader, he's a guy who the team looks to for direction and he's itching to play."
