Thunder cruise past shorthanded Spurs

Big Kiwi Steven Adams had a solid game as the Oklahoma City Thunder hammered Western Conference rivals the San Antonio Spurs 111 to 92.

But with the NBA playoffs looming, Spurs coach Greg Popovich ensured the Thunder wouldn't be able to take much confidence from the win.

Two weeks out from the playoffs, Popovich rested out four starting players.

Thunder power forward Serge Ibaka wasn't about to take things easy though, and neither was Adams. But even missing Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, the Spurs were opening up a handy lead.

Big players step up when their teams need them, and in the second quarter it was Russell Westbrook, with Ibaka again proving impenetrable in the paint.

Westbrook had a game-high eight assists, as the Thunder went on a dunking spree in the third quarter.

Although he saved the most spectacular for himself, Westbrook finished with 29 points, while Adams managed nine of his own.

Kevin Durant top scored, with 31.

Durant's 58th consecutive 20-point-plus game took the Thunder to a 19-point win.
