Liverpool have advanced to the Europa League quarterfinals after a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford to give them a 3-1 win on aggregate.
Heading into the game with a two goal deficit after losing the first leg 2-0 at Anfield, United's teenage striker Anthony Martial gave them hope after converting his own penalty midway through the first half.
But Brazilian Phillipe Coutinho dashed United's dreams after finishing a run down the wing with a delightful chip over goalkeeper David De Gea.
Needing to score three more goals, United had no response in the second half and could only scrounge a number of half-chances while Coutinho continued to threaten.
