Video: McCullum, Marshall struggle chipping in NZ Open practice

Brendon McCullum

Brendon McCullum and Justin Marshall will hope they don't have to do much chipping when they play in the Celebrity Challenge of the NZ Open.

We caught up with the former Kiwi sportsmen during their practice round in Arrowtown and both stumbled when tasked with an uphill challenge.

Chipping for the green, both saw their balls agonisingly roll back down the hill.

McCullum was quick to swap out for a putter and attempt to drill it up the hill in an aggressive manner similar to his famous batting approach, but he suffered a similar fate.

"We all had a million," stated the former All Black while they added up their scores.

"I've learnt a lesson on this hole, do not get into position where you need to chip."

Let's hope the two go better today during the real thing when they tee off after 12.
