Blues lock Patrick Tuipulotu has re-signed with New Zealand Rugby for another three years.
The seven-Test All Black is in the middle of a comeback season with the Blues after undergoing double hip surgery last year, ruling him out of All Blacks contention for last year's Rugby World Cup.
The 23-year-old said the lure of a World Cup in 2019 was a big factor in him re-signing.
"Injury meant I missed a chance to play in the World Cup, and so long term I would love to be at the next one," Tuipulotu said.
"I'm really enjoying my rugby at the Blues and I am learning a lot playing under [Blues coach] Tana [Umaga]. I like being based at home right now. Next year the Lions are coming to New Zealand which would be great to be part of."
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen called Tuipulotu, who made his Super Rugby and All Blacks debut in 2014, a player with "huge potential".
Tuipulotu joins All Blacks Julian Savea, Brodie Retallick, Dane Coles and Aaron Smith in committing to New Zealand Rugby through to 2019.
