Julian Savea back on board for Hurricanes

'The Bus' will be back on board for the Hurricanes this weekend when they host the Jaguares on Saturday night.

Julian Savea has been named on the left wing after being sensationally left out of coach Chris Boyd's side that beat the Kings.

Boyd remains defiant that there was no underlining reason behind his omission a fortnight ago.

"Contrary to some misbelief, Julian was never under any sort of requirements or protocols or anything we just gave Jason [Woodward] a chance and we gave Matt Proctor a chance," Boyd said.

"Julian trains hard all the time, mate. He's a really hard trainer so I don't think anything of that training component of his game's been different."

The 41-Test All Black's inclusion is one of six positional changes with Brad Shields and Victor Vito returning from injury.

Cory Jane has also been named to play his 100th game for the franchise.
