The Warriors forward stocks have taken a hit in the run in to the NRL playoffs.

Enforcer Charlie Gubb is facing a five week suspension for a shoulder charge in Saturday's 15-14 golden point defeat to the Sea Eagles in Perth.

The 13th minute incident went unchecked by officials during the match, with Gubb one of several defenders to meet opposition prop Darcy Lussick in a powerful kick return. Manly captain Jamie Lyon can be heard pleading to the referee for a penalty but was called to play on.

Gubb's been hit with a grade two shoulder charge, with the punishment inflated by a similar recent offence.

The Warriors are unlikely to risk a guilty verdict if they were to challenge it and lose at the judiciary because of the seven week ban that would accompany it. If they accept the five week punishment, Gubb would be ruled out until the penultimate game of the regular season against the Tigers at Mt Smart Stadium.

The cavalry could be coming though. Fellow forwards Bodene Thompson and Jacob Lillyman both missed the trip to Perth but both are hoped to be back for next week's clash with the Raiders in Canberra.
