Former Kiwis and Parramatta Eels Captain Nathan Cayless has confirmed play-maker Kieran Foran has been granted a release by the Eels.
Speaking on Radio Live Saturday Sport's program hosted by Brendon Telfer, Cayless confirmed the rumours which have been circulating throughout the week.
"He has requested and granted a release from the Parramatta Eels to go away, get right away from the game and deal with all these issues that he has been facing and has been struggling throughout the 2016 season.
"Kieran needs to get out and seek some help and get away from the limelight, the media pressure, the speculation and get himself sorted out, get his injury sorted out and no doubt we will see him back next year."
Foran has played in nine games for Parramatta this season, which has been hampered by injury along with serious off field issues. Foran was also named co-captain of the Eels along with Tim Mannah at the beginning of the season.
The Manly Sea-Eagles, Sydney Roosters and Canterbury Bulldogs are reportedly chasing his services for next season. With the release, it opens up the door for Jarryd Hayne to make return to the Eels in 2017. Hayne played in 176 games for the club over an eight year span.
