It is not yet known if the Chiefs player at the centre of a homophobic slur scandal will be punished for his actions.
Lock Michael Allardice admitted to making homophobic comments, but claims to have said them as a joke to his team mates while they were in a Waikato pub.
Chief executive, Andrew Flexman, says they are still considering if they need to discipline the player.
"We're going to keep having a dialogue with people down at New Zealand Rugby, about where we can take this in light of the apology."
Mr Flexman denies there is a culture of homophobia within the team, and they put a lot of effort in to educating their players on being inclusive.
"We believe in taking people for what they are, and I'm confident in saying that throughout our organisation that's the approach."
The incident happened at the Okoroire Hot Springs in Tirau on Monday. Mr Allardice admitted on Tuesday that he had made "a rude comment" during a post-season team bonding session after the Chiefs's semi-final defeat to the Hurricanes.
