Rio: What you may have missed - day 9

Michelle Pickles and Mike McRoberts catch you up on all the action you may have missed from overnight in Rio.

The big news impacting our Kiwi athletes on day nine of the Olympics is the major setback for sailors Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie in the women's 470 title defence.

The Kiwi duo were disqualified for a start line infringement in their sixth of the regatta at Guanabara Bay.

It is their second disqualification of the regatta, having suffered the fate in race one for an illegal passing manoeuvre.

The ruling takes a big hit to their medal chances, but the pair still have four races left to make a mends for it.
