Football Ferns vice-captain Katie Duncan had one last thing she needed to do before heading to Rio in search of NZ Football’s first Olympic medal.
Spurred on by a chat with sports psychologist David Galbraith – and a challenge to look more closely at how she lived her life and how to get the best out of herself – Duncan decided to get her head shaved for charity.
Duncan says she realised that self-doubt and fear were two things that sometimes held her back in life – so the head shave was a step she wanted to take to live more courageously.
And it was all for a good cause – Duncan’s new look has raised money for True Colours Children’s Health Trust. A Waikato based health care organisation, which supports children with complex serious illness.
