At 34, Nick Willis is in the twilight of what's been a stellar career in middle distance running, but if this is to be the Kiwi's final Olympics, he has made sure it would be memorable.
"It's incredibly satisfying," says Willis.
"It's the personal satisfaction that we corrected all the wrongs from London."
Willis' bronze in the men's 1500 meters not only adds to the silver he won in Beijing, but it also makes him the oldest man in history to medal in the event.
"I've been improving the last few years, so it's nice to prove that with a championship results and not just with times I have run."
When asked about his future, the US-based Kiwi still sees a future in running, even if it's not running 1500 metres.
"I love to runs, so as long as I can break 50 seconds in 400 metres I'll stick with the 1500.
"One day my speed will slow down and I'd like to give the 5000 metre or the marathon a go."
Willis claimed bronze by running 3:50.24, which was .24 seconds behind the American, Matthew Centrowitz Jr.
