Jamie Roberts to contest kicking charge at judiciary hearing

The Broncos will try their luck at the NRL judiciary in an attempt to have gun centre James Roberts available for Friday's sudden death semi final against the Cowboys

Commentators and social media went into a meltdown when Roberts lashed out with his boot while trying to play the ball, striking Titans forward Ryan Simpkins.

It was missed by the on-field officials and the video bunker weren't allowed to rule on it, despite a try being scored from the following play.

Roberts faces a one game ban whether he fights the grade one contrary conduct charge or not - so Brisbane officials will see if they can convince the judicial panel of Roberts innocence, despite the overwhelming video evidence.

The Broncos were on the wrong side of a similar charge just a few weeks ago, where Bulldog Sam Kasiano was suspended for two weeks for kicking out and connecting with Brisbane captain Corey Parker's face.
