Rugby league legend Stacey Jones is excited to step up into his new role as assistant coach for the Warriors, whom he has played 261 times for.
"I'm pretty excited to step up and work closely with the NRL," says Jones.
The 40-year-old was promoted to the role, and will join incoming head coach Stephen Kearney and previous mentor Andrew McFadden, who will have his second stint as assistant coach for the club.
"I am excited to be working alongside these two and hoping I can add something too," says Jones.
"One being a halfback and one being a tough forward, their coaching styles should match."
Jones joined the Warriors' coaching ranks in 2014, taking up the role as head coach of the under-20s team, whom he led to their third title.
In 2015, Jones was promoted to head coach of the Warriors' reserve side, who compete in the Intertrust Super Premiership and took them to the semi-finals.
Jones coached the Warriors' reserve side again in 2016, and led them back to the semi-finals.
Many people see Jones as the future head coach of the Warriors, and when asked about the possibility, the little general said it was more about giving back to make the club successful.
"I have a desire to learn.
"I never got into coaching because I wanted to coach; I got into it because I wanted to give back and make this club successful as it can be."
The coaching changes are the beginning of many changes we can expect at the Warriors during the offseason.
